Student Agreement

Version 2.2. Every student accepts this agreement when they first sign in to the Learning Portal, and again whenever a new version is posted.

Jump to: Section 5, your exam | Section 6, the Pass on the First Attempt Guarantee

This agreement is between you and ITRX Training LLC, doing business as Eric Reed Cybersecurity Training (“we”). It covers your account and everything it opens: courses, lessons, live sessions, live session recordings, slides, notes, flashcards, practice questions, exams, Career HQ and downloads (together, “the materials”). Everything here is meant to help you pass, not to nag you.

1. Your account is yours alone. Your account is personal to you. Do not share your sign-in, let anyone else use your account, or transfer your account or your access.

2. Personal use only. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable permission to use the materials for your own study while your access is active. You receive no other right in them.

3. Notices and Messages. We post course and policy notices to your My Career HQ Messages and also email them to you, word for word. Please check Messages regularly; a notice counts as given when it is posted there. Email can be delayed, filtered or lost, so we cannot guarantee delivery. Unsubscribing from marketing email does not stop course notices. We keep a record of when each notice was posted, when it was emailed and whether our mail system accepted it, and when you first opened it in Messages.

4. When your access opens, later live classes, and your year.

  • Every course except CEH, Live Online or Live On-Demand: access opens when you register, and you also get a seat in the next live class. You can start right away or wait for your class.
  • CEH, Live Online or Live On-Demand: access opens on the first day of your live class.
  • Army Credentialing Assistance, any course and any format: access opens on the start date on your approved Army CA quote, and you get a seat in the next live class that starts on or after that date.
  • Every course, including the EC-Council courses (CEH, CHFI, ECIH and CND), is offered both Live Online and Live On-Demand.

Later live classes. Whether you take the course Live Online or Live On-Demand, you may also take a seat in later live classes of the same course, as many as you like, at no cost, as long as each class ends inside your one-year access. A later live class does not restart your course, reset Section 5 or add an exam retake; those happen only under Section 6. For EC-Council courses, a later live class counts toward Sections 5(f) and 6 only as those sections say. If your enrollment is funded by Army Credentialing Assistance, a later live class is open to you only while you remain enrolled under that funding, and only if the class ends on or before the end date on your quote. It is not available after you withdraw (see Section 15).

Your access lasts one year from the day it opens, which is the day you receive the materials. For Army Credentialing Assistance, your year runs from the start date to the end date on your quote. The year covers the materials, labs, practice questions, exam simulations and your exam eligibility under Sections 5 and 6. When the year ends, the course closes on your account; nothing is deleted. If you need more time, contact us. Extensions are granted under our extension policy at the time, and we will tell you the new date.

No refunds once you have your login. Your access to the course materials opens when we give you your Learning Portal login: at registration, or for CEH, on the first day of class. Once you have been given your login, your course is non-refundable. If your enrollment is funded by Army Credentialing Assistance, the refund rules in Section 15 apply instead.

5. Your exam: included, and earned. Your course includes your certification exam. The exam is part of the training, not a separate purchase: it has no separate price and no cash value. You earn it by completing your performance metrics within the prescribed timeframes, which is how we make sure you walk into the exam ready (EC-Council courses work differently; see (b)). When we say “Exam included. Plus a free course resit and exam retake if necessary, subject to restrictions,” Sections 5 and 6 are those restrictions.

(a) Eligibility. For CompTIA, ISC2 and ISACA courses: before you book, reach your course’s readiness score in the Learning Portal: 95% for most courses, and 80% on five practice exams for CISSP. Then book your exam within 7 days of reaching it, for a test date within 14 days of reaching it, and upload your booking confirmation to My Career HQ. Your exam must fall inside your one-year access. For EC-Council courses, see (b) and (f).

(b) How your exam is provided.

  • CompTIA courses: when you reach your readiness score, we release your prepaid exam.
  • EC-Council courses (CEH, CHFI, ECIH, CND): your prepaid exam comes from EC-Council, which releases it to you directly when you complete EC-Council’s course evaluation. EC-Council controls that timing, not us.
  • ISC2 courses (CISSP, CCSP, SSCP, CC) and ISACA courses (CISA, CISM): you book and pay for your exam yourself, and we reimburse the fee under (c). You do not have to pass to be reimbursed.
  • Army Credentialing Assistance: see Section 15.

(c) Exam fee reimbursement (ISC2 and ISACA).

  • Amount: the fee you actually paid, up to the standard published U.S. exam fee at the time you test. For ISACA exams, that is the non-member fee. Membership dues, taxes, and rescheduling or cancellation fees are not exam fees.
  • Proof: your exam receipt and your official score report.
  • Deadline: your claim must reach us at eric@ericreedlive.com within 30 days of your exam, and the exam must be inside your one-year access.
  • Payment: by ACH or check within 30 days after we approve your claim.
  • Who is paid: whoever paid for your course seat. If your employer or another sponsor paid for your seat, the reimbursement goes to them.

(d) Staying ready.

  • If your exam is more than 14 days out, take one timed readiness test each week at your readiness score until exam day.
  • If you have not tested 30 days after reaching your readiness score, complete the readiness steps again.
  • When we add or update questions in your course, clear the “new questions” practice set at your readiness score before exam day. We will remind you before your exam.

(e) If your year ends first. For CompTIA, ISC2 and ISACA courses, if your access ends before you meet (a), the exam is not released or reimbursed, and it has no cash value. You can re-enroll at 50% of the current tuition, which restores your eligibility under Sections 5 and 6.

(f) EC-Council courses: qualifying for Section 6. You qualify for Section 6 if (1) you attend every live session of your class (for Live On-Demand, your class is the live class you are seated in under Section 4), and (2) you take your first attempt within 30 days after the last day of your class, inside your one-year access. A session you miss counts once you attend that same session in a later live class of the same course before your first attempt; the 30 days then run from that make-up session. If EC-Council has not released your exam by the last day of class, the 30 days run from the day it releases it. Our attendance records decide (1), and the date on your official score report decides (2). No score or practice test is required.

6. Pass on the First Attempt Guarantee: free course resit, and exam retake where included. If you met Section 5 (for EC-Council courses, Section 5(f)) and do not pass on your first attempt:

  • Send us your official score report within 30 days of that attempt.
  • Your free course resit (sit the live course again, free, within your one-year access) starts your course over in full: your progress, your performance metrics and everything else start over. Complete the course again and reach your readiness score again, all before your course access expires. For EC-Council courses, completing the course again is your free course resit: you sit the live course again, free, by attending every live session of a later live class of the same course within your one-year access, with no score required, and your exam retake (CEH) must be taken within 30 days after that class ends.
  • Taking the course again costs you nothing, for every course.
  • Once you finish the free course resit, your exam retake depends on your course. CompTIA: we release one prepaid retake. CEH: your course includes one retake for the multiple-choice exam and one for the practical exam, provided once you finish the free course resit. ISC2 and ISACA: we reimburse one retake fee on the same terms as Section 5(c). CHFI, ECIH and CND: the exam retake is not included; you arrange and pay for any retake yourself, and the free course resit still applies.
  • You get one free course resit, and one exam retake where included, per enrollment.

A missed weekly test or a score under your readiness score pauses the Guarantee until you are back at it. For EC-Council courses, the weekly test and readiness score do not apply. When we offer it, you may instead buy the optional Peace of Mind Guarantee add-on for $500; its terms are shown when you buy it and govern that add-on. Not covered: cash refunds, tuition, a second retake, a different exam, fees beyond Section 5(c), an attempt after your access ends, and courses sold without an included exam. A plain-language summary is at ericreedlive.com/pass-guarantee/; if it differs from this agreement, this agreement controls.

7. Support, accommodations and concerns. Live support is in the support room Monday through Friday, 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, 4 to 6 PM and 7:30 to 9:30 PM Eastern, with no Friday evening session and no weekend hours. The Wednesday 7:30 PM office hour is a weekly topic session. Outside those hours, use Get Help in your course and we will reply by the next support window. Hours may change for holidays; we post changes in Messages.

Accommodations. If you have a disability and need an accommodation to take part in class or use the Learning Portal, tell us and we will work it out with you, for example extra time on quizzes and captions on live session recordings. Accommodations for the certification exam itself are requested from the exam vendor, and we will help you with that request. If you would like disability counseling, we will help you find it.

Concerns. If something is not right, email eric@ericreedlive.com. We reply within 24 hours and send you a written answer within 5 business days. If your enrollment is funded by Army Credentialing Assistance, you may also go to your education office at any time, before or after you contact us.

8. Live sessions and live session recordings. Live classes and support sessions may be recorded, including your voice, name, chat messages and video if your camera is on, and the live session recordings are shared only with enrolled students. You may keep your camera off and send questions privately. Do not record, capture or share any live session or live session recording yourself.

9. Conduct. Be respectful to Eric and to other students. We may remove anyone who disrupts a session or harasses others, and repeated or serious conduct is a violation under Section 14.

10. Exam integrity. Our questions are written or reworded by us to teach the objectives. Do not share, ask for or use recalled questions from a live certification exam (“brain dumps”), in class, in Get Help or anywhere else, and do not post our questions publicly. Certification vendors can revoke certifications for this, and it is a violation of this agreement. Final Exam Readiness exams carry their own agreement, which you accept before each one.

11. Career HQ. Career HQ is your space for certifications, renewals, skills and career records.

  • Enter typed information only. Do not enter clearance details (beyond the optional yes or no), Social Security numbers, dates of birth, home addresses or government ID numbers.
  • You can export everything you entered at any time.
  • You can delete any item, or all of your Career HQ data, yourself. If you ask us by email, we complete it within 30 days.
  • Your Career HQ stays yours after your course access ends, as an alumni page, until you delete it or ask us to close your account.
  • We never share your Career HQ data with an employer, sponsor, Army CA or anyone else without your separate opt-in for that recipient, which you can withdraw. A sponsor who pays for your course sees attendance and completion only.
  • We never use it in marketing without your separate written permission.

Our Privacy Policy at ericreedlive.com covers the rest of how we handle your information.

12. CPE and continuing education credit. Our certificates record the hours you attended and the topics covered. Activities “may be eligible” for continuing education credit; you submit them to your certification body, and that body decides what counts. We are not a certification body’s approved continuing education provider unless we say so for a specific program.

13. Confidential materials and monitoring. The materials are our confidential and proprietary property. Do not copy, download (except where we offer a download), screenshot, record, print, reproduce, post, sell, share or forward them, in whole or in part. We record account activity, including sign-ins, IP addresses, devices and progress, to protect the materials and your account. Pages may show your name.

14. Violations. If you break Sections 1, 2, 8, 10 or 13, or seriously break Section 9, we may close your account without a refund, and we may take legal action, including seeking an injunction and damages. For anything less serious, we will talk with you first.

15. Army Credentialing Assistance. Students funded by Army Credentialing Assistance follow these same terms. The Guarantee and every other feature here belong to the course for every student; none is offered as a reason to enroll or to choose Army CA funding, and a retake is never billed to Army CA. Your exam is released by your course end date, whether or not you have reached your readiness score, and there is no reimbursement path for Army CA enrollments, including CISSP. We strongly recommend you test once your scores say you are ready, because the Section 6 retake still requires meeting Section 6’s conditions for your course (for EC-Council courses, Section 5(f)). A 50% re-enrollment under Section 5(e) is not paid by Army CA unless Army CA approves it. Refunds for an Army CA-funded enrollment follow the Army CA program: any refund goes to the Army, never to you; if you withdraw before your start date, or we cancel your class, the full amount goes back to the Army; if you withdraw or stop attending after you start, the unearned part goes back to the Army on a proportional basis, based on when you stopped, through 60% of your course period (the start and end dates on your quote); and if deployment orders or an emergency make you stop, the Army is refunded under the program’s rules. Section 14 never takes away a refund the program requires. After you withdraw, coming back takes a new quote and a new Army CA approval. Where an Army CA rule requires something different for your funded enrollment, that rule controls.

16. Trademarks. Certification names and badges belong to their owners and are used only to identify the exams our courses prepare you for.

17. Changes to this agreement. We may update this agreement. We will post the new version in Messages, and you will be asked to accept it at your next sign-in. Changes to the Guarantee apply to future enrollments; if you enrolled before a change, the Guarantee terms in place when you enrolled apply wherever they are more favorable to you. If you decline a new version, contact us before your next class and we will work it out with you. If you accepted an earlier version, you qualify under whichever version is more favorable to you.

18. How long this lasts. Sections 1, 10, 13 and 14 continue after your access ends, and so does a reimbursement claim made on time under Section 5(c).

19. Governing law. This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, and you agree to the jurisdiction of the courts of Pinellas County, Florida.

20. Your electronic signature. Ticking the box below is your electronic signature and has the same effect as signing on paper.

When you accept this agreement in the Learning Portal, you tick this line: “I have read and agree to the Student Agreement, including the exam and retake terms in Sections 5 and 6. I will check my Career HQ Messages, and I will not share my account or the course materials with anyone.”
